Since capturing some aspect of the wondrous sight ~ a full Solar Eclipse ~ inspired so many people to enjoy a ‘Monday Pause’, I decide to follow suit and highlight ~ Soul first 🕊
More valuable then defining this particular Aspiration, is its process:
Like most virtuous goals, the willingness to listen more deeply is required.
And to have a mindfulness practice, such as Breathing, in place; can prove to be quite helpful.
Let me explain …
When my ‘heart’ feels unsettled, yes I’m referring to my emotions (not the organ), my attention quickly abandons the task at hand in search for what may pacify it.
Busy and distracted, my ‘psyche’ is easily seduced by any temporary and costly solution.
And just like that, it happens: To appease the source of my distractions, the psyche, becomes the ultimate priority!
Yet, with the help of mindful breathing, I’m willing to listen more closely.
So, when a complex puzzle intersects my path, I feel assured that a soulful solution is also on its way.
Even if the solution is having to do work that I don’t yet know how to do or more challenging yet: acceptance of what is, simply! The solution does come! It comes each time.
However distinct each of our various aspirations may be, and however unique of a process each of these may go through, we are likely to arrive at this same common denominator:
Practice is required.
What kind of practice?
One that promotes mindfulness.
So, with a heaping spoon of endurance and a dash of playfulness, I practice mindfulness daily!
Breath Awareness, an essential tool of my daily mindfulness practice, is a topic I will be exploring this September 24th.

PS: In the name of BALANCE, below you” find one of my lunar eclipse musings (from 10/8/14):
Breathing and listening …
…for the whispers of my Soul 🕊
3:25 am ~ It is a bit to early for me.
Yet, after some negotiation about the possibility of returning to a little more sleep, the veridic was in and I got my “bumbum” (butt) up. Feeling rather ‘grumpy-tired’, a quick shift in attitude was needed if there was any chance that I’d still be able to greet
this new day for what it is: Nothing short of a Present!
Since admiring the fullness of the “Empress of the Night” served me so well the night before, it made sense to repeat the gesture.
3:30 am ~ The most radiant star looks all distorted~
What happened to the perfectly round bright star illuminating the sky only a hand full of hours ago?
Ahhh …, my confusion shifts to curiosity, this must be an eclipse!
3:35 am ~ The moon is now fully obscured~
While in “Tadasana” (mountain pose), a space between my thoughts seems to open up. In this moment I pause to listen …
…aligned in such a way with the Sun and the Moon was the Earth.
The Earth’s shadow creeping across the face of the Moon…
… and I standing on its surface.
3:40 am ~ The moon becomes blood red~
Earth dancing around the Sun
A renewed sense of purpose washes over me, as I acknowledge each of my aspirations.
The Moon dancing around the Earth
An embrace of belonging, whispering into my ears … …residing at the center of your being is all that you treasure most.
3:45 am ~Restored to her fullness now~
the most brilliant star has stirred in me thoughts I wish not to forget.
So, I share them with you…
